Legislation and things you need to know

If you are taking your car abroad you need to be aware of the rules for the country you are visiting as each country has different requirements and legislation.  Staffcars recommend the AA website because it is simple to use and gives an excellent guide for each country.  Click on the link below to visit the relevant section of the site.

The AA also produce a PDF to download to help you make sure you have all the compulsory or recommended equipment required when driving in Europe. You can download the guide in a two page Adobe pdf document by clicking on the following link.  To view the file you will need Adobe Reader.  If you don't have it already, click on the icon to get the latest version.

Download Adobe® Reader® - this will open a new window

The Good Samaritan Law

This European law requires every driver to stop and provide assistance when encountering an accident or incident if it is safe to do so.  This may require a Fire Extinguisher and a First Aid Kit, so it is strongly recommended to carry these even though in most countries it is not compulsory to do so.
