Servicing and Maintenance

To keep it in tip top condition your car needs to be serviced regularly.  If you take out a contract hire or personal contract hire agreement on your car having it serviced and maintained regularly is one of the conditions of the agreement.  Staffcars offer the option of a maintenance agreement on all cars so the cost of servicing, parts and labour are all included in the price.  Even items like tyres, batteries, exhausts, bulbs and wiper blades are all included.  If you decided not to take out this agreement the you are now responsible for maintaining the car.  It's not something that you can forget about either because there may be financial penalties at the end of the agreement if you don't keep up to date with the maintenance.  This is because by not having it serviced you could potentially damage the car and you have to remember that with leased vehicles they are not your vehicles to damage!  The title or ownership of the vehicle remains with the finance or leasing company.

If you didn't take out a maintenance agreement and you are wondering where you can get it serviced, Staffcars would always recommend the main dealer.  We do also recognise that you do often pay a premium for having an expert on your particular make carrying out the work and it can work out more expensive than taking it to a smaller garage.  You must remember that if anything goes wrong with it in the first three years of it's life the local franchised dealer will sort out any warranty problems free of charge.  If you are having work done on your vehicle it is advisable to use genuine manufacturer parts so there are no warranty queries but contracts generally don't stipulate where the work has to be done.  With this in mind Staffcars recommend Nationwide Autocentres because they offer a fantastic service, good prices and they do a lot of work for leasing companies such as Lex - in fact Lex are one of their biggest customers.
